The E&S Analyst or Associate will support Navegar’s commitment to sustainable investing by embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations across our investment process. This role combines policy development, portfolio-level engagement, and internal culture-building to drive practical sustainability outcomes.
1. Sustainable Investing Development
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Fund’s Sustainability policies, including environmental, social, climate, and gender lens considerations
- Work with the investment team to set meaningful portfolio company ESG goals and targets
2. Sustainability Integration
- Partner with the investment team to implement E&S risk management strategies, develop KPIs, and track sustainability performance across the portfolio
- Engage directly with portfolio company ESG officers and leadership to operationalize sustainability objectives, including monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with IFC Performance Standards (PS) and support practical implementation of Environmental & Social Management Systems (ESMS) at the portfolio level
- Participate in ESG due diligence during the investment process to assess environmental, social, and governance risks and opportunities
3. Operational E&S & Social Safeguards Expertise
- Apply E&S principles in a practical manner, maintaining monitoring, evaluation, and documentation
- Address social risk areas relevant to our investment pipeline, including labor and working conditions, occupational health and safety, and community health, safety, and security
- Leverage relevant training or certifications (e.g., SA8000, OHS-related training, IFC PS courses) to strengthen portfolio-level social safeguards
4. Internal Culture & Training
- Foster a culture of sustainable investing across the fund by providing training, guidance, and resources to all teams
- Promote accountability and ownership of sustainability objectives, ensuring all employees understand their role in achieving the fund’s ESG goals
